Asus PQ321Q hands on

#1 Asus PQ321Q

Asus tops the list with its stunning 31.5 inch display with ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and 140 PPI. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Other features include anti-glare LED back-lit IGZO display which provide ultra crisp and bright images with wide viewing angle.

IGZO stands for Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide panel which provides far more advantages than ordinary.

  • It provides much smaller pixels and better details.
  • Supports increased pixel transparency and reduced current leakage and therefore is more energy efficient.

Asus PQ321Q comes with 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort and built-in dual speakers. The monitor can be tilted, swiveled and height adjusted. It is wall mountable also.

With 8 million pixels, Asus PQ321Q gives 4 times the resolution of full HD. The 10 bit RGB panels gives you more natural and smoother gradations.

Design of PQ321Q is elegant and sleek. Its thickest point measures only 35 mm. Imagine how thin a monitor can be.

We can say, without doubt, Asus PQ321Q is the best among 4K monitors so far, if price is no bar.

ASUS PQ321Q 31.5-Inch 4K UHD 16:9 LED LCD Monitor (Black)
ASUS PQ321Q 31.5-Inch 4K UHD 16:9 LED LCD Monitor (Black)
Price: $1,469.99 A review: "I got this monitor the first day available on July 17 and it has worked perfectly. Easy to set up and capable of 60 hz, single cable, max resolution single screen output. Multiple screen output is also available(Enter monitor setup and select MST instead of default SST otherwise only 30 hz is available). After being used to a Dell 1920*1200 monitor I have to increase the text size by 50% since the text size is so small. Sharpness, color richness and detail are significantly improved over typical HD(1920*1080) monitors. Played some 5 year old action games which allowed for 3840*2160 resolution and even at max detail level there wasn't any noticable lag. I bought a fast new video card(Radeon 7950) to drive this monitor and comes with a display port output."

Samsung Ud590 Review

#2 Samsung UD590 : Affordable 4K gaming monitor

The announcement of Samsung's new ultra HD 4K UD590 for $700 has got the hopes of every gamer high. And they nailed it as they said. The UD590 has a 28 inch TN panel with 157 PPI and 3840 x 2160 resolution. The 60Hz monitor is capable of displaying 1 billion colors with a very short 1ms response time. Provided the specs, the UD590 has already conquered the market. For those die hard gamers out there, this is your best deal.

The Samsung UD590 has an attractive design with 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort connections. Unfortunately there is no DVI connection.

For a 10 bit color display $700 ($550 on Amazon) is much less price tag. Since the panel is Twisted Nematic, you get cheap and fast display but less wider viewing angles. But who cares its $700 only.

You'll need a couple of powerful graphics cards to utilize the monitor at its max. But technology is ever evolving. So there is never a good time for buying 4K gaming monitor than now.

If you are looking for a top quality affordable 4K monitor, Samsung UD590 would be the perfect choice.

#3 Asus PB287Q

Another one from Asus with 28 inch display with ultra HD 3840 x 2160 resolution @ 60 Hz. The 60 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms GtG response time is ideal for gamers.

There are 2 HDMI ports with MHL support and 1 DisplayPort to connect gadgets. The TN based monitor can be tilted, swiveled or height adjusted. The Asus PB287Q covers 87% of the sRGB color space which is very good.

For the price Asus PB287Q is a good option with flicker free back light and low input lag for gamers.

#4 Dell UP3214Q

The Dell UP3214Q UltraSharp 4K monitor offers an extraordinary level of clarity and high pixel density of 140 PPI. This monitor offers a resolution four times greater than the full HD resolution and highly detailed images. Equipped with the PremierColor technology, UP3214Q provides amazing color accuracy and high-end professional features. The brilliant 31.5" features a wide viewing area that allows you to use all the desired applications for multitasking.

With anti-glare IGZO technology, the Dell UP3214Q provides a display of 3840x2160 pixels, which is four times that offered by Full HD (1920x1080).

The Dell UP3214Q reaches the maximum brightness of 350 cd / m², contrast ratio of 1000: 1, the response time of 8ms (GtG) and viewing angles of 176 °. There are two DisplayPort inputs (one mini) and an HDMI connection, as well as four USB 3.0 ports (one with battery charging) and a memory card reader. To get the most from your monitor (3840x2160 resolution at 60 Hz) you need to be connected via DisplayPort, and HDMI connection limits the frequency to 30 Hz. The monitor can be tilted rotated and is height adjustable.
